At BROS, we believe literacy is the foundation for success — but it doesn’t stop there.
Our programs combine reading enrichment, life skills training, and mentorship to help young men thrive academically, emotionally, and socially.
Each experience is designed to be culturally relevant, empowering, and practical — meeting participants where they are and helping them reach their highest potential.
Our core program provides a 60–90 minute literacy & life skills experience, offered once or twice per week. Each session includes:
Mentors greet participants, foster a sense of belonging, and set the tone for a safe, supportive session where every voice is heard.
Engaging reading circles, comprehension exercises, and creative writing activities that strengthen skills and build a love for learning.
Focused discussions on leadership, decision-making, and confidence, equipping participants with tools to navigate real-life challenges.
Open dialogue that allows youth to share insights, practice communication skills, and connect with peers in a positive, guided environment.
A structured wrap-up that reviews key takeaways, celebrates wins, and sets personal or group goals for the next session.
Small-group reading circles, one-on-one tutoring, and creative writing labs that improve fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary — all using books and stories that reflect our boys’ culture and identity.
Interactive workshops that teach:
Financial literacy & entrepreneurship
Goal setting & time management
Health & wellness habits for body and mind
Guided mentoring circles and leadership practice sessions that build:
Social etiquette & respectful communication
